BBG Advanced Therapies is proud to introduce: The Biomanufacturing Advantage from Dr. Rogelio Zamilpa, Executive Director of Biomanufacturing and Dr. Alia Mallah, Senior Scientist, MSAT at BBG Advanced Therapies, a subsidiary of BioBridge Global.
Dr. Alia Mallah, PhD (left), brings extensive experience in regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and advanced therapy development and manufacturing.
At BBG Advanced Therapies, she focuses on transitioning advanced therapy processes from development into cGMP manufacturing, supporting technology transfer, process knowledge, and manufacturing readiness.
Dr. Rogelio Zamilpa (right) brings extensive expertise in stem cell research, tissue repair and regeneration, and cell therapy manufacturing.
His experience in biomanufacturing includes overseeing operations within BBG Advanced Therapies' cGMP cleanroom suites and leading the successful transition of therapies from process development into cGMP manufacturing for the organizations we serve.
Dr. Zamilpa's research has been published in leading scientific journals, including Proteomics, Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, and Matrix Biology. He also holds two patents focused on expanding mesenchymal stem cells using microcarriers in combination with extracellular matrix technologies.
In this five-part monthly blog series, Dr. Zamilpa and Dr. Mallah will share insights directly from the biomanufacturing lab, exploring topics such as the promise of extracellular vesicles, the challenges of process scale-up, and the practical considerations shaping the future of advanced therapies.
From process development and manufacturing readiness to scalability, their perspectives will provide a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to translate promising science into therapies that reach patients.
